Wellstar Health Systems, Inc. is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full‑time night shift (7pm‑7am) in the Clinical Decision Unit/Short Stay (CDU) at Wellstar Paulding in Hiram, GA.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Exemplary Practice and Outcomes

  • A. Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in clinical care using evidence‑based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and individualized care coordination.
  • B. Provides relationship‑based patient‑centered care consistent with population characteristics (age, gender, disease, etc.) and adapts service delivery to reflect cultural diversity.
  • C. Partners with the patient and significant others, using appropriate methods for setting and purpose (e.g., bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned patient teaching) and keeps the patient’s goals the focus of the plan of care.
  • D. Practices using current clinical practice standards.

Teamwork and Collaboration

  • A. Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, promoting the professional care delivery model, inclusive communication, timely documentation, and a respectful clinical environment.
  • B. Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration to practice in a fiscally responsible manner and promotes recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
  • C. Participates and supports performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance at all levels.

Professional Development and Initiative

  • A. Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required education.
  • B. Serves as a preceptor/mentor for other professional nurses and staff or students to ensure a qualified workforce.

Evidence Based Practice and Research

  • A. Promotes evidence‑based practice and nursing research, including value analysis and data collection.
  • B. Upholds health system policies, clinical competencies, and legal, regulatory, accreditation requirements.

Resources and Support

  • A. Plans for patient care across the continuum during direct care.
  • B. Participates in developing protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes.
  • C. Supports efficient use of human and material resources.

Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required

Minimum Education
  • Associate's Nursing or Diploma (RN) or Bachelor’s Nursing – preferred.
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s)

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

  • RN – Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT – RN – Multi‑state Compact.
  • BLS – Basic Life Support or ARC‑BLS – American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS‑I – Basic Life Support – Instructor.
Required Minimum Experience

Minimum 5 years RN experience required. Direct patient care experience preferred.

Required Minimum Skills

Ability to read, write and speak English; optimize the use of technology to support clinical care; basic computer skills; strong interpersonal, collaborative, customer service skills; ability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisive, composed respect; excellent time‑management; analytical and critical thinking skills.
