Registered Nurse; RN- Acute Care- CDU Fulltime Nights

This role is for a fulltime Night Shift (7p-7a) on the CDU (Clinical Decision Unit/Short Stay) at Wellstar Paulding. Magnet designation and high CMS scores reflect patient satisfaction and quality of care. Sign-on bonus is eligible.

• Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice; provide individualized care; coordinate care through partnerships
• Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care reflecting demographic and cultural diversity
• Engage patients and families using methods such as bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, just-in-time and planned teaching; align care goals with patient preferences
• Practice using current clinical standards
• Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care; promote inclusive interdisciplinary communication; ensure timely documentation
• Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration in a fiscally responsible manner; support recruitment and retention
• Participate in performance improvement activities and shared governance; support inter/intra-disciplinary processes

• Complete initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory/population-specific education
• Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other nurses, staff, or students to support a qualified workforce and a healthy work environment

• Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement; participate in value analysis for care products
• Uphold system policies, regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., JCAHO/Joint Commission Patient Safety Goals, Wellstar safety standards)
• Participate in data collection, pose clinical questions, and consult experts as needed to address practice questions

• Plan care across the care continuum while providing direct patient care
• Develop protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers to improve outcomes (e.g., reduce readmissions, avoidable days, adverse events)
• Support efficient use of human and material resources
• Performs other duties as assigned; complies with Wellstar policies, standards of work, and code of conduct

• Required Minimum Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma;
  Nursing Bachelor’s preferred
• Required
  
  Licenses/Certifications:
  
  RN license (single state) or RN-Compact; BLS required (Basic Life Support) or ARC-BLS; BLS Instructor may be required depending on role

• Minimum 5 years RN experience with direct patient care; preferred

• English language proficiency; strong computer skills; ability to use technology to support clinical care
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; excellent customer service
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies decisively and respectfully
• Excellent time management; strong critical thinking and evidence-based practice capabilities
