Part‑Time Teller Trainee – Hingham Branch, Rockland Trust

Job Description: As a Teller Trainee you will be at the heart of our branches, serving as the friendly face of Rockland Trust. You will proactively explore customer needs, provide personalized advice, and perform a variety of transactions while delivering efficient, courteous service.

What You’ll Do
  • Make the first impression by warmly greeting customers and guiding them to the appropriate colleague.
  • Provide constant customer support, exhibiting efficient, effective, and courteous service in person and via telephone.
  • Offer Rockland Trust products best suited to each customer’s individual needs.
  • Perform financial transactions—deposits, withdrawals, payments, cash checks—with high accuracy.
  • Makes decisions with supervision, growing responsibilities with experience.
  • Work closely with training and branch teams to learn and complete the Teller Training program.
  • Execute any other duties assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable using technology and computers to achieve business goals.
  • Sales and service‑oriented personality.
  • Professional appearance and presentation.
  • Positive customer and team interactions.
  • Ability to work in a standing environment with continuous customer support.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work weekends as needed.
  • Successful completion of the training program.
Preferred Skills / Experience
  • 1‑2 years of teller experience or related cash‑handling/customer‑service skills.
