Supervisory General Engineer

Overview

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain DOD Personnel to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: Serves as Chief, Engineer Division at a large installation within the Installation Management Command (IMCOM).

Duties

• Plans and directs subordinate operations.
• Determine causes of unfavorable trends and variations, make authoritative recommendations on corrective actions required, and direct and supervise accomplishment of such actions.
• Apply a multi-disciplined engineering knowledge, skills, and abilities, performs technical reviews of designs, plans, and project specifications for work to be accomplished by the subordinate organization.
• Act as authorized representative of the contracting officer and/or division engineer for architectural and engineering service contracts for several types of engineering services such as reports, studies, and designs (Title I services).
• Supervise the activities of supervisory, administrative, specialist, engineering, and other technical personnel engaged in the engineering activities.
• Develops and presents oral briefings and written reports.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
• This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
• This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
