Job Summary
The Operations Manager will oversee the full operational workflow of the pharmacy, including dispensing operations, stock management, logistics, compliance, and partnerships. You will manage our distribution centre team, ensure regulatory standards are met, and work directly with partner organisations to deliver reliable, high‑quality supply.

Our model combines a digital pharmacy platform with a centralised distribution centre, enabling us to serve individual patients, healthcare providers, and corporate partners efficiently and safely.
Job Responsibilities- Pharmacy Operations
- Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the online pharmacy and distribution centre.
- Ensure prescriptions are processed, dispensed, checked, and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Develop and maintain SOPs for all medicines‑handling and operational processes.
- Coordinate closely with the Superintendent Pharmacist to ensure safety and compliance.
- Team Leadership & Staffing
- Recruit, train, supervise, and support dispensers, technicians, and fulfilment staff.
- Create staff rotas and ensure adequate coverage across all operational areas.
- Build a performance‑driven culture with continuous improvement at its core.
- Stock, Supply Chain & B2B Distribution
- Manage procurement, stock control, and supplier relationships.
- Oversee inventory planning and forecasting to support both pharmacy and B2B contracts.
- Ensure timely fulfilment of orders for partner companies, care providers, and clinics.
- Work with suppliers and wholesalers to optimise pricing, availability, and logistics.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure full compliance with relevant (GPhC, MHRA, GDPR, and health & safety) regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of dispensing accuracy, stock, and procedural adherence.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for regulatory inspections and accreditations.
- Digital & Operational Systems
- Oversee the use of pharmacy management systems, EPS workflows, and fulfilment software.
- Recommend system improvements to automate and optimise processes as the business scales.
- Analyse operational data and generate performance reports for leadership.
- Customer & Partner Management
- Serve as point of contact for patients, partner organisations, and suppliers.
- Resolve queries and operational issues promptly and professionally.
- Support onboarding and servicing of new B2B clients.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations and medicines‑handling requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to build scalable processes.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Comfortable working in a start‑up or fast‑growing environment.
- Confident using pharmacy software, digital platforms, and reporting tools.
- li>Experience in online pharmacy, health‑tech, or automated dispensing.
- Understanding of B2B supply chain workflows and contract fulfilment.
- Experience setting up a new operational site or service.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Pharmacy Services (preferred) or strong experience in pharmacy operations.
- Proven management or supervisory experience within a pharmacy, fulfilment centre, or logistics operation.
- Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 a year.
- Contract:
Permanent. - Working pattern:
Full‑time.
