Key Details

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Support Technician

Salary: Starting £28,900, rising to £30,400 when role triggers are met + 20% shift allowance

Career Development: You’ll have a structured development plan with regular pay increases as you complete training and build new skills. Your progression is performance‑driven, and within 2–3 years you could advance to the next grade, starting at £35,200 and rising to £39,000.

Location: Desford, Leicestershire

Contracts: Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week on a fixed term (20 months)

Hours: Mon–Wed: 16:30–02:30, Thu: 16:30–02:00

• Driving manufacturing best practices into the production environment.
• Complete root cause analysis for quality & inefficiency improvements to implement robust process containment measures.
• Facilitate development of manufacturing process solutions working with functional teams, using a range of tools e.g. process flows, PFMEA’s, control plans. Promote lean and quality as a focus within the business.
• CAD software utilisation; design of jigs, fixtures, updating floor plans and completing virtual builds.
• Adhere to the company’s Health and Safety policy and safe working practices.
• Adhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action:

• Good understanding of building and construction equipment assembly, test or finish processes and production.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety Awareness and Controls Safety.
• Working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter would be advantageous.
• Experience of quality concern resolution with tools such as 8D, 5why, fishbone diagrams and other appropriate quality tools.
