Food & Beverage Server – The Sea Pines Resort

Job Summary: To display assertive hospitality and friendly service to ensure total guest satisfaction. Product knowledge is essential and must know all aspects of the menu and beverage offerings. Assist in monitoring the guests' needs. Maintain and support our resort's Core Values.

• Check station assigned to you prior to opening for cleanliness of work areas.
• Serve guest orders promptly and according to the service manual.
• Do all necessary set-up side work as per side work schedules.
• Attend Pre-Shift at the designated time.
• Be aware of daily additions, soups, drinks, and “86” items.
• Be knowledgeable of all menu items, their garnish, contents, and preparation methods. Be prepared to answer any questions about the menu in a direct, concise way.
• Assist the host/hostess with prompt and courteous greeting and seating of guests.
• Accurately practices service standards on a daily basis.
• Can recite all menu items and ingredients of each item, including Premium/Super Premium items – beer, wines, liquors and prices; capable of opening a bottle of wine.
• Ring up orders, close guest checks, and complete paperwork accurately.
• Present the check in a timely fashion and handle daily special questions.
• Answer basic questions, give directions and information about the resort and local areas.
• Ensure timely beverage refills and upsell opportunities (adjacents like appetizers, desserts, and beverages).
• Practice aggressive hospitality as outlined in the F&B Service Standard Manual.
• Operate Micros POS (where applicable). No voids or deletes without management’s written approval.
• Record all cash and credit tips accurately and maintain sales records.
• Be able to climb stairs multiple times per shift and carry a tray weighing 10-20 lbs over the shoulder.
• Approach tables quickly, introduce yourself, and check with guests to ensure satisfaction.
• Pre-bus tables and maintain clean, safe, and sanitary stations.
• Check food before serving to ensure appearance, temperature, and portions are correct.
• Carry out all reasonable requests by management within scope of the role.

Experience serving customers either in a restaurant or banquet setting. One to four years of education at the high school level or equivalent education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
