Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor supports the Engineering/Facilities department by overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations for the resort. This role ensures that guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas are kept in good working condition through timely repairs, preventive maintenance, and hands-on leadership. The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with the Engineering Manager to assign tasks, monitor performance, and assist with training a skilled, service-oriented team.
ResponsibilitiesDaily Operations
- Supervise and participate in daily maintenance and repair tasks across the property.
- Assign and follow up on work orders to ensure timely completion.
- Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, equipment, and common areas to identify issues.
- Assist with troubleshooting and hands-on repair of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Direct, coach, and support a team of maintenance technicians.
- Provide on-the-job training to ensure safe work practices and proper use of tools/equipment.
- Help schedule staff and maintain coverage for all shifts and emergencies.
- Support the implementation of the preventive maintenance program for guest rooms and equipment.
- Track completed work orders and ensure accurate documentation.
- Monitor inventory of supplies, tools, and replacement parts.
- Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with local codes, fire safety, and OSHA regulations.
- Participate in emergency response efforts, including power outages, storms, or equipment failures.
- Keep accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, and incident reports.
- Respond quickly to guest-impacting issues with professionalism and urgency.
- Work with Housekeeping and Front Desk teams to ensure rooms are guest-ready.
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and work areas.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or trade certification preferred.
- 2+ years of maintenance experience in hospitality, multifamily housing, or commercial facilities.
- Prior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of building systems: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a hands-on approach.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Work at heights, on ladders, in confined spaces, and outdoors in various weather conditions.
