Haig Point Club & Community is a private, waterfront club where Southern hospitality, refined service, and natural beauty come together. We are seeking a Private Events & Catering Manager who brings creativity, organization, and a passion for memorable experiences—someone who thrives in a hands-on role while enjoying a truly unique island lifestyle.
From elegant member celebrations to intimate private gatherings, this role is at the heart of creating moments our members and guests will remember long after the ferry ride home.
What You’ll DoAs the primary point of contact for all private events, you will lead each event from concept to completion while delivering exceptional service and attention to detail.
You will:
- Plan, sell, and execute all private catering and special events for the Club
- Manage events from proposal through execution—on time, on budget, and beyond expectations
- Build strong relationships with members, clients, vendors, and internal partners
- Coordinate menus, décor, entertainment, A/V, florals, specialty items, and staffing
- Maintain banquet schedules, master calendars, and detailed BEOs
- Lead daily and weekly BEO meetings and ensure accurate event reconciliation
- Collaborate with Culinary, Service, Sales & Marketing, Golf, Recreation, and Membership teams
- Develop creative theme events and new revenue-generating opportunities
- Oversee event budgets, contracts, invoicing, and reporting
- Ensure all events meet Haig Point’s standards for quality, service, and safety
- A natural relationship-builder with exceptional communication skills
- Highly organized and calm under pressure, with the ability to manage multiple events
- Creative, proactive, and detail-driven
- A confident leader who motivates and supports their team
- Flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as events require
- Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1–2 years of catering, events, or hospitality management experience
- Experience managing or leading staff preferred
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a golf cart
- Active, hands-on role involving standing, walking, and lifting
- Regular lifting up to 25 lbs; occasional lifting up to 100 lbs
- Combination of indoor and outdoor work in a beautiful island setting
