The Wedding & Event Coordinator oversees all aspects of event planning and management. Plan, coordinate and supervise the execution of functions, ensuring that customer requirements and specifications are adhered to and that functions run smoothly and efficiently.
Activities & Responsibilities
- Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of the SERG Restaurant Group.
- Regularly review upcoming events and have a thorough understanding of all requirements.
- If providing coordination services, work with Bride & Groom on all wedding aspects, including, but not limited to, timelines, diagrams, rehearsals, and event day execution.
- Inspect event space prior to the start of each function (check room setup, menu, service staff, etc.) to be sure it conforms to the Banquet Event Order.
- Introduce Client to Operations Manager.
- Maintain records of event aspects, including financial details.
- Monitor event catering activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, satisfaction of customers, and resolution of any problems that arise.
- Continually observe, direct, and assist staff where necessary during the planning process and during events.
- Recommending of vendors' services according to customer requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure the timely setup of all functions.
- Work in unison with vendors on setup, clean up, and venue rules.
- Manage all changes to Event Order and collect payments.
- Prepare and complete an accurate final Banquet Event Order, bill, and confirm final guest counts with the customer two weeks prior to the event.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings
Minimum Qualifications
- Position is based on a 50-hour work week with weekends and evening hours required in season and on an as-needed basis. Responsibilities may vary based on the event schedule.
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be organized and able to multitask
- Proficient with Microsoft applications
- Knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least two years of banquet/event positions.
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
- Able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
