PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
The primary responsibility of a Warehouse Stock Clerk is to receive, verify, and store merchandise brought in by various vendors and transportation services, to ensure accurate billing and payment of merchandise. A Warehouse Stock Clerk also fills orders and prepares merchandise for delivery to each store.
JOB DESCRIPTION
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
You MUST perform the following duties regularly and up to company standards:
• Accurately receive and count incoming merchandise, physically counting and matching it with invoices.
• Store merchandise in warehouse (drive forklift, operate pallet jack, stock wagon, etc.).
• Fill store orders by using "pick lists" and pulling merchandise.
• Prepare orders for delivery by palletizing and wrapping merchandise.
• Load freight for delivery to stores (truckers, Young Brothers, etc.).
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
In order to provide the best possible service to our customers, the following duties are also required on an as-needed basis, during slow periods, or upon instruction by a supervisor, manager or designated person-in-charge.
• Pick-up freight from Alternate Warehouse.
• Deliver merchandise to Downtown store and unload the merchandise.
• Do quarterly inventory and weekly cycle counts.
• Maintain a clean warehouse. Sweep, remove debris, and discard trash daily.
• Sweep containers.
• Wash Kona vans.
• Take damaged goods and unusable pallets to rubbish dump for disposal.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Continuously:
Perform duties in a warehouse where it may be noisy, dusty, hot and humid when stocking shelves, pulling merchandise and palletizing orders; work around fumes from the forklift.
• Frequently:
Perform duties outdoors when loading and unloading containers and Kona van. Containers are often dusty, hot and humid, as there is poor ventilation.
• Occasionally:
Perform duties in wet conditions (rain) and around fumes given off by forklifts and trucks.
• Seldom:
Perform duties around noxious odors (rubbish dump) or in extremely cold temperatures (freezer).
WORK HOURS
• Generally be available for work Monday through Saturday and holidays, between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (occasionally until 8:30 p.m.).
EQUIPMENT USE
• Continuously use a hand truck to transfer merchandise throughout the warehouse area; use pencils and calculator to check-in freight and label merchandise.
• Frequently use electric and propane forklifts to transfer larger amounts of freight throughout the warehouse area.
• Occasionally drive a 4-speed flatbed truck to pick-up freight from Alternate Warehouse, deliver freight to Downtown store, and dispose of pallets and damages at the rubbish dump; use chalk, shrink wrap, string, case cutter and tape when stocking and preparing orders; hammer to repair pallets; broom and dustpan to sweep warehouse and containers; container-jack, wheel chucks and ramp (used to drive forklift into the container) when loading and unloading containers and Kona vans;
pallet-jack to move merchandise around in the warehouse.
• Seldom use a ladder, case cutter, company van, and circular saw.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT
• Continuously wear a back support belt and steel toe shoes when performing all job duties.
MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND COMMUNICATION DEMANDS
• MENTAL - Continuously need to concentrate well and be alert to drive forklift and company vehicles, and operate various equipment; use mathematical abilities to receive freight, take inventory and fill orders; pay attention to detail when counting merchandise; be able to comprehend instructions before performing each duty.
• PHYSICAL - Continuously need to stand, walk, handle and use corrected vision when performing all job duties. Frequently need to sit and have good eye-hand-foot coordination and wide field of vision to operate forklift and company vehicle; reach, lift and carry up to 60 lbs. when receiving, stocking and palletizing merchandise. Occasionally need to climb and balance, stoop and kneel when receiving, stocking, and palletizing merchandise;
