The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is a development‑focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position through a self‑paced, collaborative training over 16 weeks.
Responsibilities- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to support and lead your team.
- Perform customer‑care duties that deliver high levels of service.
- Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
- Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
- Engage with your leader in Key Learning Experiences that support your path to promotion.
- Lead the store as a member of the management team in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies.
- Engage colleagues in support of the company’s purpose of "helping people on their path to better health."
- Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market you work in.
Selection for SMIT does not guarantee promotion into a Store Manager position; promotion depends on performance, availability of openings, and other factors.
Qualifications- High School diploma or GED (required).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant work experience considered.
- Retail management experience or experience as a CVS supervisor.
- Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location within the designated market.
- Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market.
- Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.

Pay Range$18.50 - $28.67 per hour. The actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
