Job Details- Location: Hilo, Hawaii (96720) — Hilo RN, Hawaii travel nurse position
- Assignment Type: Travel RN (Travel Registered Nurse)
- Start Date: May 4, 2026
- End Date: August 3, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36 (after first week of orientation)
- Units: Cardiac Stepdown / Med-Surg Adult (may float to Medical, Laulima, Cardiovascular units)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1800–$1890
- Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience in stepdown, progressive care, or acute med-surg settings
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Hawaii RN license required by start date; candidates must apply for state license upon offer if not already licensed
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred; PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC are a plus
- Proficiency with Meditech EMR and Pyxis medication systems
- Experience with wound vacs, chest tubes, and other stepdown-level equipment
- Ability to float between units and adapt to variable patient acuity (float pool experience helpful)
- Proof of immunity required (no medical or religious exemptions accepted)
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in cardiac stepdown and medical-surgical units
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, hemodynamics, and progress
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per orders (experience with Pyxis preferred)
- Manage and maintain devices such as wound vacs and chest tubes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Float to Medical, Laulima, and Cardiovascular units as required and support unit staffing needs
- Participate in orientation, unit-specific training, and ongoing professional development
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to facility policies and nursing standards
Candidates must arrive in Hilo the Thursday before the start date to attend a required employee health appointment on Friday. Please ensure availability for this requirement.
