Job Summary:
We are seeking a Flex Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient care across multiple medical and surgical units. This role requires strong clinical skills, adaptability, and the ability to float between departments while delivering safe, high-quality care in a dynamic hospital environment.

Assignment Details:

• Contract duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule:
  
  12-hour day shifts (0645–1915)
• Scheduled approximately 36 hours per week after orientation
• No guarantee of hours
• Holiday coverage required
• EMR: EPIC

Unit Overview:
The Flex RN floats across various units including medical, surgical, step-down, and occasionally cardiovascular care areas. Orientation is provided for each assigned unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care across multiple units
• Perform assessments, medication administration, and treatments
• Manage medical-surgical and step-down level patients
• Utilize clinical equipment such as wound vacs, chest tubes, and medication dispensing systems
• Communicate patient status and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
• Adapt quickly to different workflows and patient populations

Floating:

• Medical units
• Surgical acute units
• Cardiovascular unit (occasionally)

Requirements:

• Active State RN license required by start of assignment (must apply upon offer if not currently active)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (flexible range up to experienced clinicians)
• Recent Med-Surg and/or Step-Down experience required
• Ability to float between units and adapt to varying patient ratios
• Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) required

Required Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS)

Preferred Certifications:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Procedural Sedation
• Trauma certification (TNCC)
• Emergency pediatric certification (ENPC)
