• Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Travel Nurse / Travel OR RN
• Location: Hilo, HI 96720 (On-site) — Hilo healthcare jobs, Hawaii travel nursing
• Contract: 13 weeks (Start: April 6, 2026
  • End: July 6, 2026)
• Hours per Week: 32–40 (variable based on department needs and holidays)
• Shift: Variable; OR operates Monday–Friday, 06:45–23:15
• Shift Length: Up to 16-hour days
• Call: Required; average 1–2 call shifts/week plus up to 2 weekends/month (must be within 30 minutes for callback)
• Unit: 6 OR suites + 1 dedicated C-section suite; typically 4–6 rooms running daily
• Orientation: Day shift orientation up to 1 week (per manager)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,700 – $1,790
• Pre-Start: Arrive Thursday before start date for employee health appointment Friday
• Dress Code: Scrubs provided

• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years circulating cases in a hospital operating room setting (peripheral OR, perioperative nurse, surgical nurse)
• License: Active State of Hawaii RN license (required)
• Certifications: BLS (required)
• Preferred: Ability to scrub cases and assist with complex procedures
• Clinical Skills: Independently circulate a broad range of surgical procedures:
  General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Ophthalmic, Urology, ENT, Endoscopy, Robotic, Obstetrics, and Gynecology
• Systems/Equipment: Experience with Meditech and Pyxis preferred
• Call Readiness: Must be able to respond within 30 minutes when on call
• Attendance: If approved time off is requested, traveler must complete a minimum of 39 shifts during the contract

• Circulate surgical cases maintaining sterile technique, patient safety, and efficient perioperative workflow
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the perioperative team to ensure room, supplies, and equipment readiness
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning support, and preparation for subsequent cases to keep rooms running on schedule
• Transport patients as needed and support perioperative flow and patient positioning
• Help with case scheduling, instrument and supply management, and day-to-day coordination
• Participate in on-call coverage and respond within required callback time when scheduled
