Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN with a current HI RN license and strong critical care or post-anesthesia experience.
Responsibilities

• Position is in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in a hospital setting

• Care for patients pre-op, phase I, and phase II post-operative recovery

• Patient population includes adults and may include pediatric cases

• Shifts are variable and may include 8, 10, or 12-hour day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts

• On-call is required 0-3 times per month, including 8-hour night and 24-hour weekend/holiday shifts

• Equipment used includes Meditech EMR, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCD's, Bair PAWS Warmers, HP Monitors, and Phillips Monitors

• PACU RNs assess incision sites, monitor for complications, and ensure post-anesthesia patient stability

• Critical thinking and advanced knowledge of anesthesiology required

• All travelers must report to Employee Health hours prior to assignment start

• Proof of flu vaccination or an approved exception is required prior to contract start

• Plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to complete health clearance
Requirements

• Active HI RN license required by assignment start date

• Minimum 2 years of PACU or critical care (ICU or ER) RN experience in a hospital setting

• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required

• PALS certification is recommended and may be required for some positions

• Other specialty certifications such as NIHSS and TNCC are preferred

• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
