Volunteer: Patient Support at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans

Job Description

As a Patient Support volunteer at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home, you’ll assist patients with a variety of tasks.

• Assist patients or visitors requesting the use of a wheelchair
• Transport wheelchair or ambulatory patients to and from various departments and locations as needed
• Deliver equipment, supplies, flowers, newspapers, email, mail, etc to patients
• Provide companionship to patients
• Complete other duties as assigned under the supervision of department staff

• Organized and dependable, including the ability to work a regular schedule
• Comfortable interacting with the public
• Ability to communicate with physicians and staff
• Proof and maintenance of all vaccinations required by the hospital
