Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Financial Compliance, Risk Manager/Analyst
Job Description
Under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer, this position is responsible for implementing the Bank's Consumer Compliance Program. If applicable or appropriate, assists business units in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act, and USA PATRIOT Act.
Responsibilities- Conduct complex quality assurance reviews to validate the effectiveness of the business unit compliance programs and related operational processes; review quarterly monitoring assessments; track all identified compliance issues and facilitate the timely resolution of corrective actions; provide direction and feedback on the monitoring assessment and issue tracking processes.
- Provide direction for the Bank’s Consumer Compliance Program; assist business units in developing and updating compliance risk assessments, including identifying and measuring regulatory compliance risks, assessing key controls, and addressing gaps in risk management; facilitate the development and maintenance of the entity-wide Consumer Compliance Risk Assessment; analyze and report on changes in banking laws, regulations, industry trends, and best practices to facilitate timely implementation of regulatory changes.
- Develop and maintain the Bank-wide compliance policies and procedures for products and related services, and assist business units in maintaining department-level processes; develop, update, conduct, or facilitate consumer compliance training for the Board, management, and employees; assess business unit compliance training requirements; provide direction on the overall Consumer Compliance Training Program and schedule.
- Provide compliance support and guidance to the Bank for new or changed products or services, marketing materials, forms, and notices; lead or participate in compliance meetings, working groups, and taskforces; consult with legal counsel, regulatory agencies, vendors, and compliance organizations as needed.
- Promote a robust Bank-wide compliance culture through demonstration of compliance knowledge, effective communication, strong internal relationships, and continual reinforcement of compliance as a core competency; maintain a superior understanding of the Bank’s products, services, policies, procedures, and processes, and ensure regulatory changes are properly incorporated into risk and compliance monitoring systems.
- Facilitate reports to executive management, governing committees, and the Board of Directors on the status of the program; facilitate the compliance and operations portions of regulatory compliance examinations and audits, including exam/audit preparation and management; develop written responses to any actual or potential issues or findings.
- Perform all other job‑related duties as required or assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
Minimum 12 years extensive work experience in banking, audit, or regulatory compliance, with 1 to 2 years of supervisory/leadership/management experience. Process improvement and project management experience with lead roles also required.
Technical
Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) or similar software; knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems; working knowledge of banking laws and regulations and complex database systems.

willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary; requirement for reliable transportation and travel by air.
