Title:

Lecturer, CC (Interdisciplinary Studies) — Temporary, part-time, non-tenure track pool for Spring, Summer, and/or Fall. Assignments as needed, contingent on funding and staffing requirements for East Hawaii (Hilo), West Hawaii (Kailua-Kona), and/or North Hawaii (Honokaa) campuses. Location options:

Minimum $1,911.00 per credit. Must be able to attend meetings and trainings on short notice and teach courses in person as necessary.

Part-time, non-tenure track. Duties include teaching in person and, where appropriate, distance education; maintaining at least one office hour per week for each class; possible evening, weekend, or off-campus assignments.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, conduct lecture and, as appropriate, laboratory courses in the discipline.
  • May include instructional assignments involving distance education.
  • Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught.
  • Possible evening, weekend and off-campus assignments.
  • Conduct student evaluations of teaching effectiveness.
  • Participate in assessment of course learning outcomes.
  • Adhere to all due dates, including the online submission of grades.
Minimum Qualifications
  • (a) Master s in Counseling and Guidance, Counseling Psychology, College Student Personnel Services, Human Resources (to include both CTHAR and Personnel), Communications or related field; OR
  • (b) Bachelor s in Counseling and Guidance, Counseling Psychology, College Student Personnel Services, Human Resources (to include both CTHAR and Personnel), Communications or related field plus 3 years of related work experience.

Related fields include:
Education (including all degrees in this field), Family Resources, Human Development, Psychology (including all degrees in this field), Public Health, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Sociology, and Student Services Personnel.

If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Willingness to work with Running Start and Early College programs and pass required additional screening as necessary.
  • Demonstrated commitment and/or experience supporting the success of students.
