Part-Time Construction Inspector

Hilo, Hawaii

Duration: 3 months

We're seeking a reliable Construction Inspector to join our Hilo office for oversight on an exciting project.

• Ensure Contractor's work meets safety and code standards
• Research construction data and promptly report any discrepancies
• Conduct on-site inspections and issue delivery receipts for project materials
• Prepare detailed reports, including staff allocation, materials usage, and project concerns
• Collaborate with Project Manager/Engineer/Inspection Supervisor on scope changes or additional services
• Interpret construction drawings to ensure compliance with specifications

• High School Diploma
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and certifications preferred
• Proficiency in mathematics, written communication, and computer literacy
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work outdoors
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision

• Prior experience in construction scheduling, ordering, and quality control preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage various construction phases across different project types
