Position:
Part-Time Construction Inspector
Location:
Hilo, Hawaii
Duration: 3 months
We're seeking a reliable Construction Inspector to join our Hilo office for oversight on an exciting project.
Responsibilities- Ensure Contractor's work meets safety and code standards
- Research construction data and promptly report any discrepancies
- Conduct on-site inspections and issue delivery receipts for project materials
- Prepare detailed reports, including staff allocation, materials usage, and project concerns
- Collaborate with Project Manager/Engineer/Inspection Supervisor on scope changes or additional services
- Interpret construction drawings to ensure compliance with specifications
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and certifications preferred
- Proficiency in mathematics, written communication, and computer literacy
- Valid driver's license and willingness to work outdoors
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Prior experience in construction scheduling, ordering, and quality control preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage various construction phases across different project types
