Picture your first week at Belden Universal: you walk into a newly constructed, air‑conditioned, spotless production floor just 12 miles west of downtown Chicago. Next to you are seasoned grinding pros eager to share their craft. Together, you set up CNC surface grinding and honing equipment to machine universal joints and drive shafts for aerospace, defense, and industrial machinery. It’s an AS9100 environment, and your precision shows up in every measurement, every log entry, every part that meets spec the first time.

• Study work orders, blueprints, materials, specs, and GD&T to plan each setup and operation.
• Configure CNC surface grinders and honing equipment: establish zero/reference points; set tool registers, offsets, and compensation; adjust conditional switches; load/verify part programs.
• Run first‑article and sample pieces; verify positions and dimensions against international standards.
• Maintain part conformance via in‑process inspections and documented quality procedures.
• Operate safely and keep machines production‑ready through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting aligned with manufacturer guidance.
• Record production results and quality checks in accurate, timely logs.

• At least 2 years of surface grinding experience.
• Comfort with basic math, geometry, and trigonometry for calculating setups.
• Strong conceptual thinking and a drive for process improvement.
• Clear verbal communication and solid functional/technical aptitude.
• Hands‑on familiarity with controls and instrumentation.

Primary:
First shift (5:00 AM – 1:30 PM). We can also accommodate 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM or 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM in the grinding department.
