SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY

This Teacher Assistant role is a great opportunity to work with a supportive team and make a difference every day! You'll help and guide students during class and school activities, including those with moderate to severe disabilities such as cognitive challenges and autism.

Schools are located in Hillside, IL

• Ability to assist the teacher(s) in instructional activities, including use of assistive technology, supervision of students, reinforcement of appropriate student behavior, and supporting student health care needs.
• Ability to build positive and purposeful relationships with students, parents, teachers, and other school staff.
• Flexibility, patience, creativity, and ability to collaborate as part of a team working with diverse learners.
• For special education environments: willingness and ability to support students' personal care needs, supervise integration into community settings, and assist in other supportive activities.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience working with children with a wide range of abilities - especially in special education settings
• Illinois paraprofessional license (Educator License with Stipulations: PARA) or a substitute license.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Establish a relationship with one of the nation's largest referral agencies for behavioral-health.
