Credit Analyst (Hybrid)
Location:
Tampa, Florida | Job Type: Full-Time | Pay Range: $65,000 - $75,000 (Analyst I)
The Credit Analyst is responsible for analyzing customer creditworthiness and managing credit risk across assigned accounts. This role focuses on reviewing financial statements, determining credit limits, and ensuring compliance with established credit policies and SOX controls. The analyst works closely with Credit Administration, Sales, Internal Audit, and external parties to support credit, collections, and accounts receivable functions. The position reports directly to Credit leadership and supports process improvements within the credit department.
Key Responsibilities- Review customer files and financial statements to analyze creditworthiness
- Determine and assign appropriate credit limits within approval authority
- Review prepared credit reports and make credit decisions
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and credit limit policies
- Place accounts on hold when limits are exceeded
- Manage accounts receivable portfolio and monitor exposure
- Contact customers regarding outstanding balances and collections
- Escalate collection issues to Sales when necessary
- Resolve account disputes and discrepancies
- Send delinquent accounts to collections and oversee related litigation follow-up
- Maintain accurate credit and accounts receivable records
- Support audits, confirmations, and verifications (internal, external, customer)
- Participate in process improvements, reporting, and departmental initiatives
- Interface with customers, credit reporting agencies, legal counsel, and auditors
- B2B credit experience
- Strong financial analysis skills
- Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements
- 1-3 years of credit experience acceptable
- Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent training/experience preferred
- Experience working with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Working knowledge of an ERP system preferred
- SAP experience preferred
- Decision-making capability in credit approvals
- Understanding of SOX compliance and credit controls
