We’re looking for a motivated Mechanic Apprentice to join our team at the IKO Southwest asphalt shingle plant in Hillsboro, Texas. • Assist in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment
• Learn to troubleshoot issues with motors, conveyors, pumps, and other plant machinery
• Support installation and modification of mechanical components
• Help organize tools, parts, and work areas
• Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout protocols
• Use computer‑based maintenance systems to track work orders and equipment history
• Participate in test runs and assist with equipment adjustments

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or coursework preferred
• Strong interest in mechanical systems and hands‑on work
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members
• Basic understanding of tools and mechanical principles
• Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced industrial environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed
