MECHANIC APPRENTICE – IKO Southwest Plant (Hillsboro, TX)IKO is a global leader in the roofing, waterproofing, and insulation industry. We’re looking for a motivated Mechanic Apprentice to join our team at the IKO Southwest asphalt shingle plant in Hillsboro, Texas. - Assist in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment
- Learn to troubleshoot issues with motors, conveyors, pumps, and other plant machinery
- Support installation and modification of mechanical components
- Help organize tools, parts, and work areas
- Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout protocols
- Use computer‑based maintenance systems to track work orders and equipment history
- Participate in test runs and assist with equipment adjustments
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or coursework preferred
- Strong interest in mechanical systems and hands‑on work
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members
- Basic understanding of tools and mechanical principles
- Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced industrial environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed
