About the RoleWe are seeking a hands‑on engineering expert with experience in mobile, and full‑stack software development. The best candidates will have deep technical experience staying up‑to‑date on engineering best practices and tools, as well as strong organization and planning skills.
About You- You have extensive experience in web and mobile development, system architecture, and AWS cloud services.
- You’re ‘hands‑on’ with the development process and are up to speed on current practices and languages.
- You’ve had previous leadership experience and can evaluate and mentor engineers.
- You’re comfortable in a startup environment and can adapt quickly to changing circumstances and new opportunities.

- End- to-end involvement: Be an expert in Fuel Cloud’s technical infrastructure – web and mobile products, software architecture, and cloud services.
- Technical planning: Contribute to technical project planning follow best practices and ensure scalability, monitor team goals, and align technical milestones to business objectives.
- Team and project leadership: Lead 1-2 teams in delivering high quality work on time. Provide clarity on priorities and goals, help to balance workloads and manage timelines and sprints by working with and reporting to the Chief of Product.
- Troubleshooting: Lead troubleshooting and investigation of escalated technical or system critical issues as well as project blockers, providing timely solutions and ideas for improvements.
- Collaboration across teams: Serve as a bridge between technical and business teams, translating technical jargon into actionable business strategies, and vice versa.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation to support internal teams, ensuring clarity and consistency across all stages of product development.
- Day-to-day flexibility: Adapt to evolving team needs, assisting with various tasks across the development lifecycle, from hands‑on coding and code review to strategic decisions and beyond.
- 5 – 7+ years of experience in hands‑on software development, with at least 2 years in a managerial or lead role.
- Experience in the design and development of a clean, well‑structured, and maintainable code to help build and maintain the quality of our products.
- Hands on experience with the technology we use and a drive to gain an advanced understanding of our products and processes.
- Experience with automation testing for various platforms and integrations.
- Knowledge of software architecture, CI/CD automation, AWS cloud infrastructure, and development best practices.
- Technical aptitude and ambition to learn new technologies that will further our products.
- Ability to work M, W, TH at our Hillsboro, OR office.
