POSITION SUMMARY
Pay range: $32.62/hr - $51.00/hr
The Security Manager manages the daily operations of the Security Officers and other security department staff. In partnership with the department staff identifies crime, security, and safety risks in and around facilities and initiates appropriate actions to remove or reduce those risks. Protects and assists all patients, visitors, and employees. The Manager manages the team schedule, annual reviews, productivity standards, and quality management.
Under the immediate supervision of the Facility Operations Director. The Manager is a standing member of the EOCC, the Workplace Violence Committee, and Emergency Preparedness Committee. Responsible for maintaining all areas of regulatory compliance as it pertains to Security Services. Conducts risk assessments, mitigation of any identified risks, and ensures confidentiality and appropriate retention of threat assessment records. Must wear security uniform and bullet-proof vest while on duty.
- Performed majority of the time:
- Patrols campus and off-site locations as contracted to prevent fires, theft, vandalism and responds to the security needs of personnel.
- Ensures only authorized personnel are admitted onto premises.
- Maintains current information in logs, checklists and records.
- Reports safety, fire and security hazards observed on routine patrols and inspections.
- Monitors and maintains CCTV system, two way radio systems, and alarm systems.
- Prepares relating crime, incident, information, and lost and found reports.
- Maintains controls access to specific areas in conjunction with the Director of Facility Operations and administrator.
- Responds to burglary, fire, panic, equipment alarms and code alerts.
- Provides escorts for visitors, patients and personnel to and from parking areas.
- Enforces and carries out hospital policies and procedures.
- Gives regular performance feedback to employees.
- Ensures all equipment issued is well maintained.
- Ensure security services are properly staffed and scheduled.
- Performed occasionally but critical to successful performance of the job:
- Stands by as requested to prevent disturbed or menacing patients, visitors, or anyone else from being a danger to themselves or others.
- Assists medical staff in controlling and restraining combative patients as necessary.
- Conducts locks and unlocks facilities on a regular basis and additionally as requested by staff.
- Coordinates safety and security procedures during emergencies.
- Maintains age-specific security precautions for all age groups in the performance of work.
- Decision making and budget responsibilities:
- In partnership with department staff identifies crime, security and safety risks in and around facilities and initiates appropriate action to remove or reduce those risks.
- Manages Security Department budget.

- Direct supervision over Security Officers and other security department staff.
Education:
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred — Bachelor’s degree.
Experience:
Required
- Minimum (5) years of experience in the field of law enforcement and/or security.
- Preferred — Minimum three (3) years of hospital security experience.
- Preferred — Minimum two (2) years managing personnel.
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:
Required
- DPSST Executive Manager certified within 90-days from the date of hire.
- Oregon or Washington State Driver’s license.
