Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
About the Role
Canon U.S.A., Inc. has an exciting opportunity in the Hillsboro, OR area to support our photolithography equipment customers and enable them to utilize cutting‑edge technology in semiconductor manufacturing. This is an entry‑level position where you will be trained to support Canon’s photolithography equipment (steppers and scanners). The role requires full‑time presence at your assigned office(s)/worksite(s)/territory.
ImpactNOTE:
Position may require working night shifts on a compressed work week requiring flexibility to change the work schedule as required.
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance of semiconductor manufacturing equipment to ensure equipment performance and uptime meet customer specifications.
- Install and calibrate semiconductor process equipment to factory specifications.
- Escalate advanced repairs as needed to senior level technicians.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activity and provide periodic reports to site and regional management.
- Participate in ongoing technical training and machine installations to expand technical expertise.

- HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
- AA or BS degree in a related field preferred, plus less than one year of related experience.
- May require up to 30% travel (valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record necessary).
- Requires proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Position may require travel to other offices or customer sites within the US and some overseas travel as needed.
- Requires ability to work flexible shifts, including compressed shifts as needed to meet customer requirements.
- Must be capable of working independently, prioritizing tasks effectively, and maintaining composure in high‑pressure situations or when addressing customer demands.
- Driving for company business is an essential function and must remain in compliance with company safety guidelines and policies.
- Can lift up to 30 pounds individually; lifting over 30 pounds may require assistance.
- Substantial amount of standing, walking, typing, grasping, talking, and hearing.
- Occasional kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders.
- Requires close visual acuity for extensive reading, visual inspection of small defects or parts, use of measurement devices, and assembly or fabrication at close distances.
- Works primarily in a cleanroom environment (wearing full cleanroom suit, facemask, gloves, and safety glasses).
- May involve proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, scaffolding, high places, exposure to chemicals, ultraviolet light, lasers, enclosed spaces, close quarters, narrow aisles, or passageways.
- Work may require quick resolution of equipment problems in highly time‑sensitive situations.
Hourly range: $24.39 – $36.53.
