Data Center/Systems Administrator II
Location:
Hillsboro, OR (100% onsite)

Hours:
Mon‑Fri 8am – 5pm
• Pay Rate: $43/hr
- Build, configure, and maintain high‑performance computing clusters in a test lab environment (Linux, Windows).
- Provision custom OS images using Deploy Commander, FOG, and AWX.
- Resolve infrastructure incidents and coordinate escalations with DSE engineers.
- Support pre‑production and production hardware (system assembly, firmware updates, inventory management).
- Provision new systems to optimize lab capacity and maintain system life cycle.
- Partner with Network & IT security teams to design lab networks and firewall rules.
- Maintain security compliance and update IT service management systems (Service Now).
- Document findings and create troubleshooting documentation.
- Improve system usability, quality, and maintainability with Lab Compute.
- Engage with DSE & Lab Compute engineers to drive projects and assemble physical systems.
- 2+ years experience in Enterprise Linux and Windows Server support with hardware (Windows 2016/2019/2022, Linux Red Hat/SUSE/Ubuntu).
- 2+ years experience in Storage Support Administration (SAN/3
PAR/EMC/Netapp NFS/CIFS). - 2+ years experience in Client Support Administration (WinXP/Win7/Win
10/Win
11). - 2+ years experience in Virtualization (MS Hyper‑V, VMWare, etc).
- Experience with enterprise automated OS provisioning software (Altiris, Big Fix, WDE, FOG).
- Experience in data center and lab environments.
- Minimum AS degree in computer science; BS preferred.
- High‑performance Linux clustering expertise.
- Advanced TCP/IP management (DNS, DHCP).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Perl, Python, shell).
- Network file storage and backup administration.
- Batched system setup, tuning, and administration; LDAP setup.
- Jenkins CI testing environment.
- Software engineering practices and testing methodologies.
- Understanding of lab processes and the ability to follow business processes.
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; people skills.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and balance multiple priorities.
- Team player who integrates well into a dynamic, high‑performing environment.
