- Platform/Board Ramp Up – Setting up the platform at the bench and connecting, ensuring it set up to the gold configuration and powers up. Install the necessary BIOS/IFWI and Firmware, install OS or test execution shell on platform, and necessary drivers. Verify platform boots to OS or shell, and run sanity checks as directed to verify stability
- Platform/Board Ramp down – Tear down of the platform for shipment or storage
- Thermal Tool Setup:
Installation of thermal tools (such as heatsinks, air and liquid cooled thermal heads) on the device under test, and calibration of tools to achieve accurate and stable temperature control - Test & Measurement Equipment:
Setup of equipment such as multimeters, JTAG devices, firmware programmers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, waveform generators, and signal/protocol analyzers. Deployment to the test bench and connection to platform with verification that all connections are made properly. Assist in calibration of T&M equipment, and 1st level troubleshooting of issues, escalating to client to T&M vendor as needed - Build and Maintain lab hosts. Deploy lab hosts installing correct image and joining to corporate network, keep hosts optimally operational and secure by installing all necessary system updates and performing preventative HW/SW maintenance. Install host software and libraries necessary for test and debug
- System Tracking:
Keep system and board data accurate in the appropriate tools that track location, history, health, and utilization - System Maintenance:
Keep platforms and hosts up to date with the latest required reworks, BIOS/FW, drivers, OS, and any testing software and libraries - Low level tasks – such items as moving equipment around the lab, installing monitors, keyboards, mic and flushing thermal heads
- System relocation - This is part of ramp up/down but usually involves moving the platform, AOB’s, host and all related equipment to another space and or storage
- Troubleshooting – Perform 1st level troubleshooting of all system failures (Includes target, host, and Test & Measurement equipment) before escalating to the client. Most troubleshooting will involve a pre-defined checklist, or using the manufacturer’s instruction or service manual, but some best effort troubleshooting will be expected if troubleshooting documentation is not complete or does not exist.
- Maintain scheduled preventative maintenance on HW, platforms, testers, and cooling systems
- Keep Labs clean and well organized, including removal of unused or underutilized materials
The expected salary range for this position is between $50,000 to $90,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
