Quantum computing has the potential to transform the industry by achieving large computational speed‑ups over classical computers. Advances in quantum technologies have propelled quantum computing from a theoretical physics field to experimental physics and engineering. A challenge for the computer industry is to design and implement a reliable quantum computer that can efficiently execute quantum algorithms.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence the architecture of the quantum computing stack, and to join a team building Intel's first quantum computers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the research and development of quantum error correction protocols for fully fault tolerant quantum computing systems.
- Explore the performance of technology alternatives, collaborating with algorithm and application researchers, software engineers and hardware engineers to explore hardware/software trade‑offs in the implementation of quantum error correcting codes.
- Collaborate closely with both quantum computing hardware and software teams.
- Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field and 3+ years of relevant experience.
- 1+ years' experience in designing quantum error correction protocols.
- 1+ years' experience with Industrial Quantum computing.
- 5+ years' experience with quantum error correction protocols.
- Experience with hardware/software codesign of a quantum computing system.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver significant results in a multidisciplinary environment.
