About the OpportunityAmentum is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the Programme and Project Partners (PPP). This is a 20‑year arrangement to deliver £7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high‑value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site‑wide improvements and provision of supporting services.

We are looking for people who are passionate about developing themselves and in meeting new challenges.
We are looking for a Project Engineering Manager to join the PPP Team based in our client’s office in Birchwood.
This is a unique opportunity to work within a fast‑paced environment delivering a first‑of‑a‑kind project whilst being able to add value and leave an outstanding legacy. You should expect this role to be challenging but also incredibly rewarding. The role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to guide and grow their team with career development opportunities.
This exciting role will be accountable for the delivery of a major project(s) within the PPP portfolio. The projects are in all phases of the project lifecycle from studies through to construction. You will lead a team of multidisciplinary designers, engineers and engineering managers.
As a Project Engineering Manager
, you will have:
- Experience of major engineering delivery on EPC projects
- Producing and implementing engineering project execution plans
- Ability to build a diverse team that attracts technical and delivery excellence and support recruitment, retention, competency arrangements and training
- Managing cost and schedule performance of large design teams
As a Project Engineering Manager
, you will be:
- Chartered Engineer (or equivalent)
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
- Knowledge of the nuclear industry, regulatory framework and safety requirements
- Proactive with a drive for delivery and an ability to bring stakeholders together around a common vision and deliver it
