Field Service Engineer I - Semiconductor

Canon USA is looking for a Field Service Engineer to support our photolithography equipment customers and enable cutting‑edge semiconductor manufacturing technology. The role will be based in Oregon with travel to other U.S. locations.

• Install, repair, calibrate and maintain semiconductor process equipment while minimizing equipment down time.
• Escalate advanced repairs as needed to senior level technicians.
• Monitor, inspect and maintain semiconductor equipment to prevent and minimize malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activity and provide periodic reports.
• Monitor stock level of service parts and equipment to ensure adequate inventory for repair work.
• Provide training and assistance to technicians and basic instruction to customers.
• Participate in ongoing technical training to expand technical expertise.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required, plus less than 1 year of related electromechanical work experience (field service engineer or technician position in a semiconductor equipment company or a technical position in the engineering field). Lithography experience is beneficial but not required and experience on high‑precision equipment helpful.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; may require up to 40% overnight travel.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, compressed workweeks, and travel to other offices/customer sites within the U.S.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds individually and may require assistance for lifting over 30 pounds.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, wearing full cleanroom suit, facemask, gloves, and safety glasses.
• Strong visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses, for extensive reading and visual inspection of small defects and parts.
• Physical requirements include standing, walking, typing, grasping, talking, hearing, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders. Driving on company business is essential.
• Compliance with customer policies and protocols, including COVID‑19 vaccination and other health measures.

We are providing the anticipated rate for this role: $27.88 - $41.75 hourly.
