The Norwich Township Fire Department is building a hiring list for firefighters/paramedics. Applicants must complete the National Testing Network process by August 15, 2025. Lateral transfers will be considered but must complete NTN process. Applicants must be certified as both a firefighter and a paramedic to work at Norwich Township Fire Department.

Salary: starting $70,353; after three years $108,793. Benefits:

• Age: at least 18 years at time of employment; initial appointment in fire service pension must be made prior to the applicant’s 41st birthday.

• GED or high school graduate.
• Valid Ohio Driver's License.
• Ability to read and speak English.
• Valid Ohio Firefighter II Certification prior to application.
• Valid Ohio Paramedic Certification prior to appointment.

• Completion of NTN process:
  National Testing Network Written Test, NTN Personal History Questionnaire, successful completion of physical abilities test (Cooper Standards at 15th percentile, hosted by Norwich Township Fire Department).
• Invitation to participate; NTN background waiver and personal history questionnaire; screening committee; expanded background with investigator; fingerprinting and BCI check;
  Battalion Chief and Trustee interviews; conditional offer of employment.
• Conditional offer requires: successful drug screen, comprehensive medical physical, background investigation, and psychological evaluation.

• NTN application process is continuous with a deadline advertised about one month prior. Applications completed after the deadline may be considered for future opportunities.
• Current residents of Norwich Township, Brown Township, or City of Hilliard, or graduates of Hilliard City School District high schools, may obtain a personal history questionnaire in person at 5181 Northwest Parkway and submit it by August 15, 2025.

The Norwich Township Fire Department (NTFD) serves Norwich Township, the City of Hilliard, and Brown Township with fire and EMS services. Coverage area is 39 square miles; population approximately 40,000. NTFD has 103 career members. Services include fire protection, emergency medical transport (paramedic), fire prevention, community paramedicine, public events, and station tours.
