Washroom Operator

Overview

Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. Responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the laundry facility.

• Check all machine safety devices before operating equipment and record/sign the appropriate equipment safety form. If the machine does not pass safety inspection, the operator will not operate the unit and will notify the supervisor.
• Load washers and/or dryers by following established procedures, including handling slings, verifying batch tickets, and ensuring proper loading positions and foam/entry alignment.
• Monitor and document machine settings and batch data (e.g., weight from batch tickets) as required by the system (e.g., SOFTROL for washers).
• Unload washers and dryers, manage batch tickets, and ensure items are moved to the appropriate staging areas and storage locations.
• Verify moisture levels and temperature requirements, ensure items are properly cooled, and confirm slings are free of excessive water and in good condition.
• Identify slings with rips or tears and remove them from the process; maintain a safe and clean work environment and observe best practices in all production activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to understand all required training, written, and verbal instructions.
• Working knowledge of basic math skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule.

Work is performed in a warehouse setting and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold, dust, and noise. Work is based on a shift schedule and may include weekends. Overtime may be required as needed. requires the ability to move, lift, carry, push, or pull product weighing up to 50 lbs; requires bending, reaching, pulling, and pressing at shoulder level and below waist; requires use of hands for grasping and manipulation; requires standing and walking for long periods.

• High school degree or equivalent preferred

The hourly rate that Vestis reasonably expects to pay for this position is $17.00 an hour, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
