Under the direction of the Supervisor, Transportation, the Licensed Bus Operator provides best-in-class safe, professional, and efficient transportation service to internal and external guests aboard passenger buses. Delivers exceptional quality service in alignment with brand standards/expectations for all guests – requiring a high level of professionalism, anticipatory service, and enthusiasm focusing on guest comfort. Contributes by creating a positive and productive working environment for patrons and employees.
Maintains a positive attitude and public image while delivering authentic greetings, and cordial farewells, centered on a sense of personal service.
- Operate passenger vehicles in compliance with all federal and state passenger carrier regulations. Transport guests safely and on schedule, with attention to road conditions and safety. Relay operational updates via radio communication, including road hazards, conditions, location, load status, and estimated arrival/departure times. Operate ADA-accessible lift when needed.
- Adhere to all Federal Department of Transportation and state rules governing passenger carriers. Complete federally mandated pre- and post-trip inspections. Maintain knowledge of vehicle out-of-service criteria. Report vehicle concerns to leadership and ensure safety of passengers. In the event of an accident, safely remove passengers as required.
- Provide high levels of hospitality in guest interactions; assist guests with resort and casino services, hours of operation, key personnel, and in-house events.
- Maintain a neat and clean vehicle and work environment, including sweeping, cleaning spills, disposing of trash, and cleaning windows/mirrors for visibility.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum three (3) years of commercial driving experience required.
- Minimum five (5) years of equivalent experience (e.g., route delivery driver, postal driving, medical transport, delivery of goods and services) required.
- Related or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
Skills And Abilities
(KSA)
- SPAB (School pupil activity bus) certificate preferred.
- Advanced vehicle operations knowledge and intermediate maintenance experience preferred.
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
- Authorized Driver:
Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.
