Retail Inventory Receiver

Under the direction of the Supervisor Retail Receiving, the Retail Inventory Receiver is responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient inventory management for all retail outlets. The candidate must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, organization, and multi‑tasking capabilities to support the department’s needs. Responsibilities include receiving shipments, verifying contents, tagging products, recording inventory, and coordinating with the retail team to ensure proper storage and stocking.
The role requires working independently and as part of a team, monitoring expiration and damage, and securing fragile and high‑risk merchandise.
- Receive shipments, check for damages, sort and tag inventory for distribution to the correct location; fill orders by taking items from the Service Center and preparing them for delivery in a specified time frame; keep organized records of invoices sent and received.
- Prepare and suggest par levels to meet the needs of each location; monitor merchandise movement in stores, storage, and at the Service Center to keep all inventory levels filled.
- Assist in the execution of special events to enhance brand loyalty; work with the retail store team and pull list items in a timely manner.
- Protect enterprise assets and minimize loss according to enterprise standards and operating procedures, inventory control, and loss prevention.
- Maintain storage cleanliness and adhere to health and safety measures, including food rotation and temperature control of all cold items; conduct positive weekly audits and cleaning checklists.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a warehouse or receiving environment preferred.
Skills and Abilities
(KSA)
- Experience using any inventory management program preferred.
- Ability to work in a challenging environment and suggest improvements to guarantee inventory and receiving accuracy.
- Food handling experience preferred.
- Strong internal and external guest service skills; ability to thrive in a guest‑centric environment.
- Experience demonstrating discretion when handling private information such as Social Security Numbers, credit card data, or personal data of colleagues, personnel, or customers.
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, a gaming license may be required and must be maintained.
- No driving responsibilities: this role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.
- Primary work environment is in a climate‑controlled office setting.
- Work may require travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
- Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Must be able to work in a fast‑paced, high‑demand environment.
- Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time; constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Physical activities: balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via video conference, and over the telephone.
- Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person and in front of groups, during meetings, video conference, and over the telephone.
- Visual acuity meets the requirements of the position, including close visual acuity for data analysis, transcription, computer use, expansive reading, and visual inspection.
- Mobility sufficient to move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and operate a motor vehicle for promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows, and San Manuel properties.
- Endurance sufficient to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods, maintaining efficiency throughout the shift and during extended hours.
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, including secondhand smoke, may occur.
