Under the guidance of the Assistant Director, Environmental Services (EVS), the Manager, EVS is responsible for maintaining health and safety standards. This position provides guidance to EVS management and non‑management team members, leading and managing the team to complete all goals and missions set forth in the department, and ensuring a best-in-class culture for maintenance of the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance of all EVS duties and responsibilities in the casino, including the cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing of all surfaces, and ensure all Health Department and San Manuel health and safety guidelines and protocols are always maintained.
  • Oversee and verify training records regularly to ensure all team members are properly trained and operate in consideration of all safety and cleanliness requirements and regulations.
  • Actively promote Forbes 5 Star standards by setting service expectations in answering guest questions, providing information, greeting guests, and other guest assistance when needed.
  • Promote best‑in‑class service by reacting promptly, efficiently, and courteously to all guest and team member concerns.
  • Evaluate and oversee the operation and multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate and schedule detail cleaning and disinfecting of their respective areas.
  • Maintain the financial integrity of the EVS division (budget forecasting/planning, review transactions, budget tracking, etc.).
  • Review, amend, and create policies and procedures as needed, ensuring all team members are up to date on enterprise and department policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Union regarding communication/consultation, following proper procedures and addressing grievance issues.
  • Coordinate and conduct interviews as needed (review resumes, interview candidates, propose starting salaries, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and making hiring decisions and designing individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of Housekeeping or Casino experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year of union experience (preferred).
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)
  • Intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Proven managerial problem‑solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to identify and prioritize issues, delegate as appropriate, and drive measurable results.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, as well as organizational and strategic planning.
  • Established ability to develop teams by guiding, mentoring, motivating, coaching, providing feedback, and holding team members accountable at all levels.
Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • No driving responsibilities: role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions – Environment
  • Primary work environment is a climate‑controlled office setting.
  • Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Must be able to work in a fast‑paced, high‑demand environment.
