Program Assistant - Henrico Heros

General Statement of Duties

Provide research, resources, coordination, and support for Henrico County Public Schools' division-wide mentoring program, Henrico HEROES.

Temporary position, up to 29 hours per week.

Essential Duties

• Develop and maintain systems for organizing program records and databases to track and analyze data.

• Assess mentoring needs across the division.

• Support mentor recruitment through social media, websites, and outreach materials.

• Improve tools and strategies for volunteer recruitment, enrollment, and retention.

• Assist with volunteer screening and standardized mentor placement.

• Communicate training opportunities and facilitate new mentor training.

• Plan and support division-wide mentoring events.

• Serve as a liaison between site-based coordinators and program specialists.

• Attend required training and professional development sessions.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's degree in psychology, social work, community and social services, or related field, or 60 credit hours. Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Experience working with youth, community organizations, or related fields.

• Understanding of youth who have experienced adverse childhood experiences; ability to show empathy.

• Strong organizational skills and time-management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Ability to create and manage databases for tracking and analysis.

• Experience setting goals and completing tasks to achieve outcomes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and virtual meeting platforms (i.e. Teams).

Additional Information

$22.67 per hour
