American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc.
Position DescriptionThis position is a full‑time hourly role (8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) that requires in‑office work 2 days per week with the remainder of the week remote. Expected travel is infrequent.
Reporting Relationship:
Reports directly to the CEO through the Director of Finance.
This individual will be responsible for financial reporting, assist with budgeting, assist with audit and other tasks assigned by management. Will also perform daily accounting tasks.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Reconcile all Balance Sheet accounts monthly to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Process journal entries as needed including payroll, depreciation, reclass, and others as requested.
- Review, analyze monthly Profit & Loss by class identifying variances, accrue for missing bills correcting discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with non-profit accounting standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and provide financial reports, monthly, quarterly as requested by the management or the board of directors.
- Monitor cash flow and provide recommendations to ensure the financial stability of the organization.
- Develop and analyze annual budgets and forecasts, based on historical data (3 years), providing financial guidance to leadership.
- Prepare information for the annual audit, annual financial report and 990 filing process, including deferred revenue adjustments and supporting audit requests.
- Maintain current level of accuracy while transitioning to new database management system, ensuring data integrity during the migration process.
- Have knowledge of accounting best practices and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and on a team, prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Detail oriented with excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- Must be proficient with Acrobat Adobe Pro and Microsoft Word, Excel (V Lookup, Pivot Tables, etc.), Outlook, Teams, SharePoint.
- Must be proficient with Quick Books Online.
- Able to design and work with complicated spreadsheet applications with large quantity of data with accuracy.
- In-depth knowledge of non-profit accounting standards (e.g., GAAP for non-profits, IRS regulation for 501(c)(6) and 501(c)(3).
- Desired:
Experience with Concur and - A professional work ethic with respectful, discreet, and positive attitude is an absolute must.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- 3-5 years in similar accounting role, with at least 2 years working with non-profit organizations, or experience with non-profit tax laws and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
