LAO Group is working on a Senior Accountant role for their financial services client in Highland Park, IL. The ideal candidate will have a background in public accounting, be a CPA or tracking, and have relevant working experience in accounting, audit and/or tax.
Responsibilities- Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Work closely with team members to assist with the month-end close
- Assist with the annual audit process including the draft of the financial statements and related notes
- Preparation of tax returns - both individual and corporate as well as providing tax strategies and research
- Process AP transactions, prepaids and accruals
- Research and analyze expense variances for company management
- 3+ years' of professional accounting experience with at least one in public accounting (audit or tax)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience
