Wooburn Green, High Wycombe (Head Office). Chesham (Stores Room).
Working Hours
: 42.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday).

Role purposeAs a Gas and Heating Installation Technician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our customers’ homes are safe, warm and energy‑efficient. You’ll carry out full and partial installations, breakdown repairs and servicing to a high standard, working independently and in line with all relevant regulations, codes of practice and Paradigm procedures. This is a hands‑on, customer‑focused role where your technical expertise and problem‑solving skills will make a real impact.
Aboutthe Role / Team
You’ll be part of our Property Services team, reporting to the Gas Installation Supervisor, and working closely with residents, colleagues and other technicians. You’ll diagnose and repair a wide range of gas and heating faults, aiming for a first‑time fix wherever possible. You’ll also complete all required documentation accurately and on time, maintain van stock, and ensure all work is carried out safely and professionally.
This role also involves supporting apprentices or less experienced technicians when required, helping to build capability across the team. You’ll be trusted to work independently, make informed decisions and deliver high‑quality work that meets regulatory standards and customer expectations.
- Carry out full and partial gas and heating installations, breakdown repairs and servicing
- Diagnose and repair faults across a wide range of gas appliances and heating systems
- Aim for a 95% first‑time fix rate and keep recall rates low
- Complete all documentation, including certificates, accurately and promptly
- Work professionally and courteously, upholding customer care standards
- Comply with all health and safety legislation, risk assessments and method statements
- Report unsafe working methods, installations or equipment
- Communicate effectively with tenants and colleagues, demonstrating a duty of care
- Use materials and equipment safely and efficiently, minimising waste
- Maintain van stock levels and follow procedures for business assets (vehicles, PPE, , devices)
- Mentor or support apprentices and other technicians when required
- Purchase materials as needed to complete works
- Contribute to team problem‑solving and continuous improvement
Must haves:
- Significant experience in domestic gas and heating installations
- Understanding of building structures to complete installations safely
- General building knowledge to make good after works
- Experience flushing heating systems
- ACS Gas
Qualifications:
CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, CPA1 - Logical, methodical approach to problem‑solving and fault‑finding
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, building regulations and health & safety
- Ability to make informed decisions using your own initiative
- Good literacy and numeracy
- Full valid UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Commitment to excellent customer service
- Willingness to join the on‑call rota for out‑of‑hours work
