THE ROLE
We’re currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join our passionate, hard‑working and friendly catering team, to create delicious meals, snacks and drinks for our residents. You’ll get to know our residents, understand their likes and dislikes so that mealtimes are always a highlight of their day. In joining us, you’ll also become part of our extended family, working alongside other team members who are passionate about providing care, warmth and kindness to everyone who lives and works in our homes.
The Heights Care Home was designed and built to enable the effective delivery of specialist nursing care, with a practical nursing unit on each wing. The home provides a bright, safe and modern living environment, with 75 individual rooms. There are many on‑site facilities and plenty of communal and outdoor space, so everyone can get involved in the varied and stimulating selection of activities available in our High Wycombe Care Home.
We encourage residents to bring personal items from home to give that home‑from‑home feel.
The Trust is a great place to work; we’ve been providing care for almost 1,000 years and we’re currently the second largest not‑for‑profit provider in the UK. Not‑for‑profit means that we reinvest every penny we make into our residents, colleagues and the care homes we live and work in. Therefore, we offer a great range of benefits, including a competitive salary, training and development.
BENEFITSHere are some of the other benefits you’ll enjoy as a valued member of our team:
- 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
- A workplace pension
- Free uniform
- Free DBS
- Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
- Refer a Friend scheme rewarding you up to £1,000 for each successful recommendation
- Blue Light Card and “My Rewards” programme, offering discounts on shopping, days out, restaurants and much more
You don’t need previous formal catering experience, as we’ll give you the training you need, although it would be helpful if you hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. We’re looking for someone who is keen on cooking, takes pride in kitchen hygiene standards, has a positive can‑do approach, good communication skills, and is passionate about ensuring our residents receive the best service possible.
You’ll be confident engaging with our elderly residents to understand their individual needs and enjoy being part of the wider team in the home.
If you think you have the right skills and attitude we’re looking for as a Kitchen Assistant within our care homes, then you could be the next to join us. Apply and get your career started today.
