About

The Role /Team

You’ll be responsible for mobilising a brand‑new in‑house team of 11 frontline technicians (8 Mobile Estate Technicians and 3 Cleaning Technicians). You’ll organise, manage, coach and motivate the team to deliver a range of estate services including estate cleaning, bin room and bin cleaning, window cleaning, bulk waste removal and gutter clearance.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll set standards, monitor performance, drive improvements and ensure our communal areas are clean, safe and places residents are proud to live in. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Property, Customer Services, Neighbourhoods, Health & Safety and external partners to deliver a high quality, customer-focused service. This position is a fantastic opportunity to make an impact in a role that is central to the success of our Estates Services team.

Working within a Property directorate of around 200 professionals, you’ll find plenty of support, expertise, and potential for development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Line manage frontline estate staff, including performance, conduct, attendance and monthly 1:1 supervision
  • Deliver induction training, coaching and ongoing development to ensure high standards and safe working practices
  • Create, maintain and review schedules of work, monitoring progress and ensuring timely delivery
  • Inspect estates post‑works, recording standards and taking corrective action where required
  • Manage sickness absence in line with Settle Paradigm procedures
  • Ensure staff complete accurate records (attendance, work activity, job completion, accident reports)
  • Monitor and record checks for vehicles, equipment, PPE, phone usage and stock levels
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing reports and recommending preventative actions
  • Work collaboratively with Estate Services, Neighbourhoods and other teams to resolve estate issues
  • Respond to and problem‑solve issues affecting estate safety, function and maintenance
  • Maintain equipment logs and ensure items are serviced and safe to use
  • Identify and support estate improvement projects, including funding opportunities
  • Communicate regularly with residents, resolving issues and keeping them informed
  • Manage storage areas for removed items, ensuring correct logging, labelling and disposal
  • Maintain accurate records to meet statutory and service reporting requirements
Must Haves / What We’re Looking For
  • Experience supervising, monitoring and directing technicians to ensure safe and compliant service delivery
  • Experience delivering induction training, coaching and motivating teams
  • Experience mobilising new teams or services
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation (including COSHH)
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification (or equivalent)
  • Ability to problem‑solve with a proactive, can‑do attitude
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, including in challenging situations
  • Ability to monitor stock, equipment and materials
  • Good IT skills, including Excel and report writing
  • Valid manual driving licence for a mobile role
