Position: Clinical and Statistical Programming Technology Placement Student 2026

Job Description

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting Placement Students for our Integrated Data Analytics and Reporting (IDAR) Training Academy. The program is designed for university students looking to complete a 12-month industry placement in Clinical and Statistical Programming (C&SP).

The Academy is a premier training program focused on developing talent for a career in pharmaceutical research and development. The placement student will gain hands‑on experience developing AI‑driven solutions that modernize programming workflows, automate processes and enhance data transformation across C&SP.

Responsibilities
  • Work with Clinical & Statistical Programming counterparts and other internal partners.
  • Conduct research to identify innovative solutions for business processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to design and develop solutions using SAS, R, Python, RPA, Power Automate, and other tools.
  • Create and maintain documentation for solutions.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends.
Qualifications
  • Ability to apply knowledge and skills in a complex environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a progressive environment.
  • Good written, verbal communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • High analytical and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as SAS, R, Python; exposure to Data Bricks, LSAF, SAS Enterprise, and other data science platforms is a plus.
Education Requirements
  • Successful completion of the first two years of a degree course.
  • Minimum of a 2:1 achieved in the first year.
  • Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering or related degrees preferred.
