ADMIN SUPPORT

About this role:

At Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, we have a simple mission – Personal and Compassionate Care Every Time. Volunteers help to enhance the patient experience and complement the work of paid members of staff.

Volunteers assist the team in completing basic administration activities which ensure that the department can deliver services on time and effectively. Volunteers here will not be in direct contact with patients.

Commitment:

A minimum of one 3-4-hour shift per week, on either a Monday to Friday.

What are the key tasks?
  • Signing in at the beginning of your shift and checking in with your supervisor to gain an understanding of key tasks that need to be completed and upcoming events.
  • Welcome and befriending any patients or visitors to the department and answering any basic queries.
  • Answering telephone calls, dealing with general enquiries from prospective volunteers and passing on messages to paid staff.
  • Sorting out post and sending letters.
  • Photocopying, filing and shredding of paperwork.
  • Debriefing with the Volunteer Manager at the end of your shift, making them aware of work completed and any issues or concerns.

Essential requirement/commitment:
  • Volunteers must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • All Volunteers will require a DBS check.
  • Participation in the training relevant to your role and confidential discussion of any reasonable adjustments required to meet your needs.
