Responsibilities
  • Trailer Spotting:
    Safely maneuver trailers to and from loading docks and designated areas in the yard.
  • Ensure accurate placement of trailers for efficient loading and unloading.
  • Coordination:
    Communicate effectively with truck drivers, warehouse personnel, and shipping staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Direct the movement of vehicles in the yard, ensuring safety and compliance with company policies.
  • Safety Compliance:
    Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while operating equipment and directing traffic.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any issues to management.
  • Documentation:
    Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, loading/unloading activities, and any incidents.
  • Assist in completing shipping and receiving paperwork as needed.
  • General Support:
    Assist in loading and unloading goods as required, using forklifts or other material handling equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized and efficient shipping and receiving area.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or warehouse operations is a plus.
  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and, if applicable, forklift certification.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
