Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position featuring night shifts, call for CVOR, and a supportive teaching hospital environment.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital operating room with 11 ORs including a CVOR and cysto room
- Majority adult patient population with limited pediatrics
- Case types include ortho, neuro, CVOR (CABG, AVR, MVR, aorta repair), urology, GYN, general, EGS, kidney stone procedures, thoracic, and robotic surgeries using the Davinci XI
- EMR system used is Epic
- Night shifts are 10 hours, scheduled from 21:00 to 07:00
- Every other weekend rotation is required
- Call responsibilities are for CVOR cases only, primarily on the procedure day with 30-minute response time; call room provided
- May float to Winston Salem campus as needed
- Travelers are expected to work approximately 75% of holidays
- Department culture is described as open, friendly, and inclusive
- Support includes a charge RN, 3 service leads, and a perioperative educator
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrub color is green and provided by the hospital
- Free parking is available for staff
- Two-day departmental orientation in addition to facility onboarding
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required; NIHSS required for Resource Team
- Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital OR experience required
- Circulating experience is required; pediatric OR experience is not required
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Robotic surgery equipment and Stryker equipment experience preferred
