The Registered Nurse (RN), a member of Advocate Health Nursing Professional Governance community, provides high-quality, patient-centered care through evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and compassionate care delivery. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, advocates for patient needs, and upholds professional practice standards to promote optimal health outcomes.
Position Highlights- Residency Program: New Graduate RNs at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist receive supportive training led by dedicated nurse educators, including clinical orientation with a preceptor, specialty-specific learning, and skill-building in clinical decision-making, teamwork, communication, and career development.
- Unit: Medical ICU – This 20‑bed provides exceptional care for patients who are critically ill. Nursing staff work alongside multiple providers and care teams to implement a multi-disciplinary care team approach for patients and families. Skills and specialty equipment include advanced airway management, continuous renal replacement therapy, wound management, normothermia management, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and titration of continuous infusion medication drips.
- Location: AHWFB High Point Medical Center is a 352‑bed, private, nonprofit facility and is Chest Pain Center Accredited with Primary PCI through the American College of Cardiology and has earned Joint Commission's Certificate of Distinction for Primary Stroke Centers. - Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Active, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) multi‑state compact and/or single‑state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services
- Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence‑based practices.
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families from admission to post‑discharge.
- Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
- Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
- Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
- Administers medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation.
- Pursues professional development, completes required education, and maintains certifications.
- Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and practices ethical decision‑making, respects interdisciplinary roles, and contributes to integrated, unbiased patient care.
- Appropriate delegation to other registered nurses, licensed practical nurse, nurse assistants, and other unlicensed assistive personnel.
- Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
