Coordinates the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care to provide optimal, quality patient care. Prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care based on nursing diagnoses consistent with the patient's age, health/illness status, and physiological/psychosocial needs.

- Associates Degree in Nursing Required
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing Preferred
- Registered Nurse with current North Carolina license (North Carolina Board of Nursing – Required)
- CPR certification (BLS Course
C) – American Heart Association Required - Clinical Specialty certification preferred
- 1 year of Nursing experience Required
Specific Duties
- Patient Care:
Gather and assess data; identify and communicate physical and psychosocial needs; plan individualized, age-appropriate care in collaboration with patient/family/health care team; set priorities; implement nursing interventions; teach patient/family; evaluate responses to nursing interventions. - Patient Discharge & Referrals:
Participate in multidisciplinary discharge planning and referrals to hospital and community resources as needed. - Documentation:
Document pertinent patient data, update patient care profile/plan to provide accurate information. - Safety & Emergency Response:
Practice safety, recognize Code Blue emergencies and implement procedures. - Communication:
Communicate clearly with health care team; keep supervisors informed; collaborate effectively; address barriers to communication. - Teamwork:
Serve as a resource and guide for staff; supervise other nursing personnel as appropriate; seek assistance when needed in complex situations. - Charge Nurse:
Function as Charge Nurse as needed. - Preceptor:
Serve as a preceptor. - Process/Performance Improvement:
Demonstrate knowledge of procedures and participate in unit performance improvement. - Policy, Procedures & Standards:
Know resources, enforce policies, and contribute to revisions as appropriate. - Professional Development & Growth:
Complete mandatory education; attend CE opportunities; identify growth needs. - Meetings & Committees:
Attend unit staff meetings and nursing department committees as required. - Professionalism:
Maintain professional relationships and adhere to standards and teamwork values. - Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
