Schedule Details/Additional Information: 7pm-7am with every other weekend rotation

Pay Range: $34.90 - $52.35

Position Highlights
  • Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 provided the candidate meets eligibility requirements
  • Department: Cardiac Care Unit - 8 bed cardiac-focused intensive care unit that provides care to critically ill patients with cardiac diagnoses. Nursing staff work alongside multiple providers and care teams to implement a multi-disciplinary care team approach for patients and families. Skills and specialty equipment include advanced airway management, continuous renal replacement therapy, wound management, normothermia management, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, titration of continuous infusion medication drips, care of fresh CABG (coronary artery bypass grafts) patients, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump management, and Impella management.
  • Location: High Point Medical Center is a 351-bed, private, non-profit facility that is Chest Pain Center Accredited with Primary PCI through the American College of Cardiology. They have also earned Joint Commission's Certificate of Distinction for Primary Stroke Centers.

Requirements
  • Minimum one year of RN experience
  • Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Active, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services
Responsibilities
  • Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
  • Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families from admission to post-discharge.
  • Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
  • Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
  • Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
  • Administers medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
  • Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation.
  • Pursues professional development, completes required education, and maintains certifications.
  • Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and practices ethical decision-making, respects interdisciplinary roles, and contributes to integrated, unbiased patient care.
  • Appropriate delegation to other registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nurse assistants, and other unlicensed assistive personnel.
  • Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
  • May be required to float to other units, departments, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, and to assess data reflective of the patient's status and age-specific needs as described in department policies.
